Strap Tension Load Cell
NASA Langley Research Center was conducting inflation, static load tests, and wind tests for Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator (IAD). The inflatable structures include high strength straps for attachments and connections between components of the IAD. During the tests, measurement of strap loads is needed to verify design margins and compare measurements to analytical models. PSI's Model FT400 Strap Tension Load Cell accurately measures up to 3000 lb of force, with an ultimate load capacity of 4500 lb, while weighs less than 80 grams.
